Job Summary
The Engineer I is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service and repair of equipment as assigned. This role directs and supervises the maintenance staff as requested by the Property Engineer and/or General Manager. The Engineer I oversees daily operations of the maintenance department, participates in the preventative maintenance program, handles guest requests and work orders, and performs various trade jobs including carpentry, painting, plumbing, among others. The role may also require driving a shuttle van if needed.
Duties & Functions
Essential Tasks: Approach interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous manner. Maintain regular attendance, high personal appearance standards, and adherence to Avion Hospitality policies. Train and supervise maintenance engineering staff, coordinate scheduling, and ensure all team members fulfill their duties. Perform repairs including changing light bulbs, vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, and a variety of preventative maintenance tasks for guest rooms, kitchen equipment, HVAC, and other hotel systems. Promptly address alarms and safety issues while reporting emergencies and unusual situations.
Additional Functions: Periodic property tours for debris and trash removal, completing engineering forms, and assisting in special meeting setups. Maintain effective communication and compliance with two-way radio protocol when interacting with colleagues.
