Buyer Planner

About the Role

Avid is seeking a Buyer Planner to support on-time delivery of products at the best possible price while minimizing production inventory levels. This role involves managing purchasing, materials requirements planning, inventory levels, supplier performance, and ERP data maintenance throughout the production life cycle.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Partner with cross functional teams including product quality, order fulfillment, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product introduction, and logistics.
• Focus on metrics such as on-time delivery, approved cost, availability, and on-time shipment.
• Manage suppliers and vendors to minimize excess, obsolete inventory and material shortages.
• Apply material requirements planning and execute purchase requisitions efficiently.
• Approve engineering change orders affecting material availability and production throughput.
• Support product manufacturing life cycle from introduction to phase out, including last time buy purchases.
• Understand supplier contracts and KPIs to safeguard Avid from inventory liabilities.
• Collaborate with sourcing to optimize supplier selections.
• Maintain ERP data such as purchase info records, source lists, buyer codes, lead-times, MOQ, ROP, and safety stocks.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with accounts payable to ensure on-time payment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in supply chain procurement, planning, or sourcing.
• Experience purchasing electro-mechanical assemblies with PCBA content is preferred.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or equivalent ERP systems.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory stocking strategies.
• Ability to understand inventory’s impact on cash flow, costing, and pricing negotiations.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills for presentations and supplier summaries.
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals.
