Role Summary
The Product Development Engineer will be a member of the Materials Group - North America R&D Team in Mentor, Ohio. This role involves leading R&D projects for pressure-sensitive labels, transitioning products to commercial production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive revenue, cost reduction, and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage R&D product development projects
- Collaborate with process, quality, and manufacturing teams
- Plan experimental designs and coordinate trials
- Document technical data with clear recommendations
- Engage in customer need analysis and ideation
- Support internal stakeholders including QA, marketing, and sales
- Present technical analysis through the Stage-Gate process
- Adhere to EHS standards and support sustainability goals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering (Master/PhD preferred). 4+ years of industrial experience in product development, strong project management skills, and proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques are required. Experience with adhesives, formulations, and Stage-Gate processes is preferred.

This is a full time position located in Mentor, Ohio. Benefits include health & wellness from day one, paid parental leave, 401K, tuition reimbursement, and more. Travel up to 10% may be required. Salary range is $86,025 - $114,700 per year.
