Overview
Avel eCare is seeking a Contracted Hospital Pharmacist in Charge to provide expert oversight and leadership in pharmaceutical services. Working closely with the Pharmacy Director of Onsite Services and hospital leadership, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Essential Functions
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations and manage pharmacy technicians and nurses.
- Participate in committees including Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Infection Control, and Medical Staff.
- Establish and review departmental goals for continuous quality improvement quarterly.
- Work on site as required to address urgent tasks per contract and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and annually review departmental policies and procedures.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding drug information and counseling.
- Monitor patient profiles, manage medication inventory, and ensure controlled substance compliance.
- Maintain a customer service focused relationship with hospital leadership and staff.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Hospital experience or an ASHP-accredited Residency is preferred. Valid state licensure and a valid driver’s license are required.
