Job Overview

Avanade’s Legacy Transformation Service Hub (LMSH) has over 25 years of experience providing fast and flexible Legacy Transformations for large customers. Avanade’s Automated Migration Technology (AMT) automates the migration of legacy enterprise applications and data to modern languages and databases.

Role and Responsibilities

As a US Technical Services Consultant at Avanade, you will: - Technically support the delivery of legacy transformation projects. - Modernize migrated enterprise systems using .NET and/or Java. - Leverage cloud technologies and DevOps practices including CI/CD and containerization. - Facilitate the delivery of migrated sources and data; setup and configuration of target environments. - Investigate defects in migrated applications and propose resolutions. - Provide training and knowledge transfer to clients.

Skills and Experience

Required skills and experience include: - 3+ years programming using Java (IntelliJ) or Python or C#/.NET (MS Visual Studio, ASP.NET, PowerShell). - Familiarity with legacy programming languages such as COBOL, Assembler, or JCL. - Experience in legacy modernization projects, especially with z/OS and Unisys Mainframes. - Knowledge of DevOps and build tools (Azure DevOps, Maven, Jenkins). - Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes/AKS. - Familiarity with Windows Server/AD, VMs, and Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS). - Database knowledge with PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar open databases. - Ability to lead small projects and technical workshops.

About You

You are experienced in legacy migrations and modernization, with additional exposure to mainframe infrastructures and enterprise applications. You are capable of leading technical workshops and engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
