Business Development Consultant at Avanade
Avanade is seeking a Business Development Consultant capable of identifying, creating, and closing high-value business opportunities. This autonomous and results-oriented professional will develop and secure new contracts within a complex consulting environment, leveraging advanced technological solutions. Proven experience in new account sales is required, specifically in marketing digital transformation and consulting services (cloud, business application integration, data, modern workplace, etc.) to mid-market clients.
Equipped with excellent interpersonal skills, the Business Development Consultant will build strong, lasting trust relationships with new and existing clients within the Microsoft ecosystem, fostering sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new clients within a defined scope (industry, territory, or segment).
- Build and execute a proactive hunting strategy, leveraging multichannel prospecting and the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Originate, qualify, and structure high-value opportunities by understanding prospects' business and technological challenges.
- Sell Avanade's digital transformation offerings, focusing on one or more targeted areas of expertise.
- Orchestrate internal teams (solutioning, delivery, finance, legal) to build differentiated and profitable proposals.
- Pilot complex sales cycles through to closing, including commercial and contractual negotiation.
- Manage the pipeline and forecast with rigor, ensuring a structured handover after contract signature.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of market conditions, competitive offers, and the positioning of services and solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of 5-8 years in business development, with a focus on hunting/acquiring new clients in a consulting or IT services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and close complex opportunities involving short and long sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of digital transformation offerings, particularly around cloud, application modernization, Microsoft platforms, and consulting, to deliver a high-impact value proposition.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the rapid establishment of trusting relationships with C-level clients.
- Ability to work within an ecosystem, particularly with Microsoft and internal Avanade teams (solutioning, delivery, finance, legal).
- Autonomy, rigor, and results orientation, with a strong ability to manage a pipeline, forecast, and revenue objectives.
