About the role
Workday Integrations Engineer - Avalara APAC
Avalara is seeking an experienced Workday Integrations Engineer to support our 2026 integration roadmap and ongoing integration landscape. This role is crucial for designing scalable, secure, and intelligent integrations, while also driving AI-enabled automation initiatives. You will report to the Senior Manager, People Technology. This is an India-Remote role.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy Workday integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, PECI, and Workday Web Services (WWS).
- Work across cloud environments (SaaS / PaaS / IaaS) leveraging platforms such as SSO, Office 365, Boomi, and other enterprise systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing integrations to support evolving business needs.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Conduct unit, system, and end-to-end integration testing.
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure stable production deployments.
- Monitor integration performance, error handling, and compliance controls.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and governance standards.
AI & Automation Focus
- Integrate AI tools within Workday workflows.
- Automate validation, reconciliation, and error detection using ML models.
- Drive intelligent automation for data loads, exception management, and reporting.
- Leverage Workday Extend to enhance system capabilities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of strong hands-on experience with Workday Integration tools (Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, PECI).
- Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPATH, SOAP, REST, APIs.
- Strong understanding of the Workday HCM data model and business processes.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
- Experience integrating with enterprise platforms and cloud technologies.
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
