Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an AWS Support Administrator to provide technical and operational support for AWS end-user computing services, including Amazon WorkSpaces, AppStream 2.0, and WorkSpaces Web. This role focuses on day-to-day administration, monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting to ensure the stability and performance of virtual desktop and application streaming environments.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Security, Networking, and Desktop Engineering to support end-user access while adhering to established security, compliance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support AWS WorkSpaces, AppStream 2.0, and WorkSpaces Web environments, including routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Support investigation and resolution of issues related to networking, authentication, application access, and user experience; escalate complex or platform-level issues when necessary.
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance using observability and monitoring tools; assist with proactive issue identification and remediation.
- Assist with integration and ongoing support of AWS Directory Service, IAM, and third-party identity providers (e.g., Entra ID) for secure authentication and SSO.
- Manage WorkSpaces policies, session settings, image updates, and environment configuration changes following documented procedures.
- Support compliance efforts by following established controls aligned with FedRAMP, HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC requirements.
- Document standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles for internal teams and end-user support.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely support for operational incidents and service disruptions.
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to identify opportunities for improved reliability, operational efficiency, and cost awareness.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and provide regular updates during incident response and service recovery efforts.
Key Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technical support roles, including hands-on experience with AWS services.
- Working knowledge of Amazon WorkSpaces, AppStream 2.0, or similar virtual desktop or application delivery platforms.
- Understanding of Active Directory, SSO/Federation concepts (SAML/OIDC), and user profile management.
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, DNS, security groups) and Windows client/server troubleshooting.
- Experience using administrative tools such as the AWS Management Console, PowerShell, or AWS CLI.
- Familiarity with basic cloud security principles and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate effectively in a production support environment.
- Strong English communication skills for collaboration with globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or equivalent.
- Experience with monitoring or observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk).
- Exposure to GPU-enabled workloads or NICE DCV environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting Amazon AppStream 2.0 in an enterprise environment.
