The Role: Data AI Engineer

As a Data AI Engineer at Autoware Lab, you will be instrumental in building the intelligence layer that drives crucial business insights. You will take full ownership of the data pipeline, from ingesting raw event data to deploying production-ready AI models.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust data pipelines from robots, backend systems, and user applications.
• Develop sophisticated models for understanding customer behavior, predicting purchasing patterns, and forecasting demand.
• Create recommendation systems to deliver personalized shopping experiences.
• Clean, label, and meticulously structure real-world retail datasets for model training and evaluation.
• Deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Continuously monitor model performance and data quality to maintain high accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate closely with Backend, Robotics, and Product teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly.
• Contribute significantly to defining the company’s foundational data architecture from its inception.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Applied Machine Learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Demonstrated experience with popular ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Proven ability to build and maintain production-grade data pipelines.
• Understanding of recommendation systems or time-series forecasting methodologies.
• Comfortable working with imperfect and complex real-world data.
• Possess a startup mindset: demonstrating ownership, embracing experimentation, and iterating rapidly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with retail or consumer behavior analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud ML pipelines.
• Knowledge of streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Experience with feature stores and MLOps tools.
• Understanding of A/B testing frameworks.
