Position Overview
As Autodesk integrates agentic AI into its Design and Make workflows, we are transforming how product data is discovered, accessed, and used. Our Product Data platform delivers real-time insights, advanced analytics, and secure, interoperable data experiences across Autodesk products and third-party ecosystems.
We are seeking a User Experience Architect, Platform Data to define and lead the experience design vision for Product Data. This is a highly strategic role responsible for shaping the foundation of Autodesk’s Product Data experience for the next decade—breaking down industry silos, enabling collaboration, and unlocking innovation for millions of users, customers and developers.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Experience Design, Product Data, Platform Services, Emerging Technology (PSET).
Location requirements are Pacific Time to Eastern time zone in Canada with a preference for ET zone. Open to remote or hybrid/remote from our Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver offices.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the user experience design vision for Product Data, including APIs, SDKs, data models, and data management experiences, and play a major role in influencing the strategic direction
- Establish a unified platform experience strategy for end users, customers across industries and developers, informed by qualitative and quantitative insights
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration with product management, engineering, and design leaders to deliver cohesive, scalable experiences that balance user needs, technical realities, and business goals
- Provide systems thinking through conception and visualization how different systems (products, platforms) work and fit together — and create frameworks for these
- Drive strategic direction with business partners. Have a deep understanding of the Architecture Engineering Construction Operation (AECO) and manufacturing industries, key sub-industries and personas
- Provides guidance to senior management (VP-level) stakeholders on user experience issues and user-centered product development on vision, architectural decisions, and priorities
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Autodesk remains innovative and competitive beyond our current capabilities
- Mentor designers, product managers, and engineers on Product Data design principles and architectural thinking
Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in experience design, including 4+ years in a leadership or architectural role
- Proven success designing UX for complex, data-driven and developer-focused products
- Strong technical fluency across APIs, SDKs, data models, and data platforms
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder alignment skills
- Strong problem-solving ability, adaptability, and attention to detail in fast-moving environments
- Deep commitment to user-centered design and balancing user and business needs
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams
- Strong applied expertise in leveraging AI-assisted development and writing tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) to accelerate ideation, prototyping, implementation, and delivery outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert visualization, prototyping, presentation skills (e.g., Figma, Miro, videos) to communicate complex systems and interactions
- Strong systems-thinking skills, with the ability to map relationships across customer workflows, partners, developers, and business objectives
- Demonstrated track record of designing and shipping agentic experiences in cloud-based applications, including orchestration of autonomous workflows, tool-using agents, and user-centered interaction patterns at production scale
