About the role

Job Overview

Autodesk is expanding its Cloud Infrastructure Engineering capabilities within the COO GET Engineering organization. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on platform engineering and application delivery. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership, with approximately 60% of the time dedicated to overseeing the delivery of business applications, including roadmap management, risk assessment, and meeting Service Level Objectives (SLOs). The remaining 40% will focus on the development and enhancement of the internal CI/CD platform, observability tools, and establishing processes that improve developer productivity.

You will lead a team of DevOps/Platform developers, define technical direction, and collaborate with Software Engineering, Security, and Product teams to ensure reliable and scalable outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will actively remove blockers, review designs and pull requests, mentor developers, and take ownership of end-to-end results. The role operates under a hybrid work model within a Squad Model across all GEO Centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Platform/DevOps team, including hiring, coaching, career development, and providing feedback.
  • Own the delivery of one or more business applications, encompassing roadmap planning and execution, risk and dependency management, release cadence management, and ensuring timely, quality delivery.
  • Establish SLOs/SLIs, on-call practices, incident response procedures, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement rituals like error budgets and postmortems.
  • Coordinate with product, design, and partner teams, ensuring clear communication of status, risks, and decisions to all stakeholders.
  • Operate and enhance Kubernetes/EKS, managing cluster lifecycle, multi-AZ/region strategy, Helm, Karpenter/Autoscaling, networking, service mesh/ingress, secrets, and policies.
  • Drive GitOps practices (e.g., Argo CD/Flux) and robust CI/CD pipelines (CodeBuild/CodeDeploy/GitHub Actions/Jenkins) with automated testing, progressive delivery, and secure deployment rollouts.
  • Develop standardized 'paved roads' for application teams, including templates, reference repositories, and guardrails, to minimize cognitive load and accelerate time-to-value.
  • Implement comprehensive end-to-end observability solutions (logs, metrics, traces, RUM/synthetics) using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Catchpoint, CloudWatch, and Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to integrate best practices for IAM/KMS/Secrets Manager, vulnerability management, SBOMs, and compliance-by-default.
  • Optimize costs and performance across AWS services, Kubernetes, and data layers, publishing transparency dashboards.
