Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Principal Software Engineer AEC Data to join the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Platform Data team. In this role, you will build services powering the data infrastructure of Autodesk's AEC products, lead critical system component development, and innovate solutions to complex challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and implementation of software projects from inception.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for software architecture and design decisions.
  • Quickly prototype and iterate to validate ideas and solutions.
  • Identify and foster innovation through new technologies and best practices.
  • Mentor developers and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of software development efforts.
  • Develop high-scale infrastructure software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise-level cloud services.
  • Experience with cloud services on Java using Spring is desired.
  • Proven track record in driving innovation and technical excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-based architecture, serverless computing, and microservices.
  • Experience with AI development tools including LLMs and MCP.
  • Experience in monitoring backend performance and optimizing scalability.
  • Proficient with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, security principles, authentication and authorization in AWS.
