Senior Corporate Counsel, EMEA Compliance at Autodesk
We are looking for a Senior Compliance Counsel to join Autodesk’s Ethics & Compliance team to help build, scale, and maintain a practical and effective compliance program. As the only member of the Compliance team to sit in EMEA, you will be responsible for building relationships across Autodesk’s EMEA offices and directing ethics & compliance efforts in that area. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure on-going compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies; manage investigations into allegations of noncompliance; and help design and deliver employee training programs, new policy initiatives, and business guidance. This position will report to Autodesk’s Senior Director of Ethics & Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Ethics & Compliance team in EMEA
- Provide subject-matter expertise and day-to-day legal advice on ethics and compliance matters, including anticorruption, conflicts of interest, competition law, and trade compliance, and related Autodesk policies
- Assess the impact of emerging risks and compliance regulations on business operations
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with global laws; work with business units to ensure their effective enforcement
- Be primarily responsible for anticorruption procedures in EMEA, including third party due diligence, gifts and entertainment requests, and potential conflicts of interests
- Create and deploy fresh and creative regional compliance education programs
- Investigate allegations of noncompliance and help drive remedial and preventative action as necessary
- Support the coordination of compliance audits
- Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including legal colleagues, senior management, Government Affairs, Human Resources, and Audit & Advisory Services, to implement and enhance Autodesk’s Legal Compliance Programs
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience focused on legal compliance in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
- Significant experience in building and implementing an effective compliance program, including conducting risk assessments and developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and trainings
- Experience with governance, risk, and compliance technologies and tools and a willingness to learn new tools
- Experience conducting business and compliance due diligence and conflict of interest reviews
- Experience conducting regulatory and/or internal investigations
- A self-motivated professional with a relentless drive for excellence. Continuously seeking to improve, learn, and contribute to the organization’s success
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, process, and problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to risk management
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours to collaborate with colleagues based around the world
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, from individual contributor to executive
- Highly team-oriented; an open mind; and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
- Law Degree from an accredited University, with good academic credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Combination of both law firm and in-house experience at a multinational corporation
- Experience in the software industry is desirable as is a willingness to travel occasionally
- Fluency in multiple languages due to EMEA scope
