About the Role

The Senior Evaluation Officer role at Australian Institute of Family Studies focuses on supporting evaluation projects and building evaluation capability in the Child and Family sector. The position involves designing, implementing, and reporting evaluation activities while working closely with child and family service providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support evaluation projects, including project record maintenance and report drafting.
  • Contribute to designing evaluation frameworks, theories of change, and monitoring tools.
  • Undertake research data collection, analysis and synthesis for publications.
  • Engage with child and family service providers to build evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain productive stakeholder relationships and provide ongoing evaluation support.

Team and Environment

You will join the Evidence and Evaluation Support team within the Child and Family Evidence program at the Institute. The team plays a critical role in translating research into practice by building evaluation capability across multiple projects. This position offers a collaborative, inclusive, and family-friendly work environment with flexible work arrangements.

Position Requirements

  • Expertise in evaluation methods and capability building in the Child and Family sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing evaluations and reporting research findings.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • An understanding of policy design and evidence-based practice.

Additional Information

This role may be part-time or full-time, ongoing or non-ongoing at the APS 5/6 level with a pro-rata salary between $85,039 and $105,910 plus 15.4% superannuation.
