Responsibilities
- Accurately and completely report and document patient status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders, and contacts with patient and/or other healthcare providers.
- Refill medications following the ARC refill protocols and review Provider refill in basket and assist with daily medication refill requests.
- Room patients, take and document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider examination.
- Perform diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings.
- Monitor inventory of medical and office supplies, ensuring proper stocking and current expiration dates; order supplies as needed.
- Clean patient rooms and ensure the laundry cart is stocked with fresh linens.
- Assist providers with procedures such as sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment, checking expiration dates.
- Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
- Administer medications and injections, provide direct nursing care, and teach/counsel patients and families on health assessment and care.
- Manage vaccine programs, including ordering, monitoring usage/wastage, and ensuring proper maintenance.
- Perform patient follow-up activities, including laboratory results, diagnostics, appointments, referrals, medications, and call backs.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees.
- Provide patients with educational materials and administer medications under physician’s direction.
- Call/inform patients of normal lab results and review provider instructions for abnormal results.
Qualifications
LVN
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas.
- Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card required.

Staff Medical Assistant
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet one of the following: Medical Assistant experience, OR CNA/EMT/PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections, OR Graduate of a medical assistant program.
- Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire required.
- Ability to administer medications & injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire.
