We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join the Scenario Generation team. We're looking to have someone who is able to become familiar with all of our standard operating practices and is able to inspect for inefficiencies and potential solutions to help address them. This may include streamlining processes to remove manual error touch points, understanding operational pain points where software solutions could help catalyze accuracy and efficiency of build and generally provide guidance cross-functionally that will benefit both the Test Specialist and Test Engineering teams involved in Offline Testing.In this role, you will
- Develop and maintain test framework, data pipelines and/or automation components for system-level testing of the Aurora Driver
- Continuously analyse the Offline test environment for inefficiencies and/or opportunities to improve velocity and accuracy in test creation output
- Implement diverse testing methods including simulation, Hardware-In-Loop (HIL), track, and road testing in support of autonomy development and system verification and validation
- Design and execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in system behavior
- Work closely with development teams to investigate root causes and drive resolution of issues
- Provide frequent, simple, and clear written and verbal communication of complex ideas to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
- Design, develop, execute, and train others in processes that embody engineering best practice
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in test engineering, systems test engineering, or other related work
- Familiarity with modern software development practices and designs, unit testing, integration test, and release processes
- Proven ability to work in high-ambiguity environments with evolving priorities, while managing diverse stakeholders across software, product, and operations teams
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience writing verifiable requirements and/or design documentation, preferably as it would relate to autonomous systems
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $112,000 - $180,000 per Year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.Key skills/competency
