About the Role
Aurora wouldn't be an industry leader in providing energy market forecasts, analysis, insights, and consultancy without our successful commercial team. We are seeking a Commercial Associate, Software Sales in our Software Sales team to sell our software solutions, which help key players in the energy sector quantify risks attached to their renewable energy assets. You will work in a dynamic multinational team responsible for sales activities globally.
You will play a key role identifying product use-cases and optimizing the product market fit of our software solutions, by owning client interactions across industry. The intel from these client interactions will directly inform the active product development of the Software Products. The role will focus on creating/developing software sales opportunities for our Software Solutions. You will also play a key role in bringing these Software Solutions into the Market. The successful candidate will combine a strong commercial mindset, great communication and relationship management skills, a passion to explore the edges of client use-cases and the Aurora Business Case, a high eagerness to learn, and an interest in energy markets.
You will work in a dynamic, stimulating, and collaborative environment. You will join our Technical Sales team, which is expected to grow and offer potential for progression, including through international expansion as Aurora's SaaS portfolio grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product suite – especially the Software Solutions you are focusing on.
- Qualify, develop, and maintain software sales opportunities through company and product knowledge, researching consumer needs, and identifying how our solutions can meet them.
- Generate leads from our existing client base (pursue cross-sell and up-sell opportunities).
- Generate new leads (run commercial campaigns, and coordinate marketing campaigns with marketing, attend conferences etc.).
- Be the key contact for Account Managers, Business Developers and Advisory colleagues to integrate software into their pitch calls & proposals (including availability for software demos).
- Negotiate and contract structured subscription offers.
- Diligently maintain the sales pipeline in our CRM tool.
- Provide the software development team with customer feedback from your day-to-day interactions to inform the product development roadmap.

- Independent and ambitious – you manage your own time effectively and don’t shy away from driving work packages independently.
- Self-initiative – you thrive in an environment that allows you the freedom to explore your own ideas to drive the sales of the products you are responsible for.
- You have previous experience in the energy economics, power markets and power networks – preferably in a commercial role.
- English C1.
Desirable attributes:
- Sales, business development, and client relationship experience – especially any experience in energy-related subscription sales.
- Negotiation skills & experience.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems.
- Any additional language skills.
