Job Overview
The Business Systems Analyst role at Aurora Cannabis involves analyzing and improving application systems, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and ensuring high-quality solutions. Reporting to the Manager, IT Commercial Solutions, you will work closely with stakeholders, development teams, and project managers.
Main Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders, document business requirements, and identify improvement areas.
- Application Development Support: Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams; translate requirements into functional specifications.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Design automated test scripts, execute test plans, support UAT, and utilize AI tools.
- Process Improvement & Documentation: Recommend process improvements and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Project Support & Reporting: Assist with project tracking, risk management, and stakeholder updates.
- Application Support & Compliance: Resolve system issues, triage incidents, and support IT General Controls and compliance.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with trends, technologies, and best practices in system analysis and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst with a background in application development.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, AI Tools, Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as Shopify, D365 CRM, ServiceNow, and process mapping tools.
- Certifications in software testing and ITIL are a plus.
- Cannabis industry or highly-regulated industry experience is an asset.
