Senior I&E Design Specialist

Job Overview

Audubon Companies is seeking a Senior I&E Design Specialist for their Metairie, LA office. In this role, you will supervise, manage, and perform assignments related to instrument and electrical design, including components, structures, and systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise medium to large design teams.
• Manage team productivity, assignments, and performance.
• Interview candidates, train personnel, and deploy work techniques.
• Plan projects, estimate budgets, and prepare complete design packages.
• Create detailed drawings and engineering calculations.
• Perform sizing and load calculations, and develop control circuits.
• Review, verify, and optimize designs for cost savings and compliance.
• Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, PDMS, SPI) for design creation.
• Prepare documentation including parts lists, BOMs, O&M manuals and ECOs.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and subcontractors; perform field surveys.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 15+ years experience with technical design and engineering roles.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD; PDMS and SPI preferred.
• Experience in oil & gas, gas processing, chemical, or refining industries.
• Proven ability to lead and manage small/medium teams.
• Ability to read drawing markups and utilize conventional drafting tools.
