About the Role: Senior Business Analyst

This fixed-term, full-time Senior Business Analyst position at Auckland Airport, until June 2028, offers a competitive package including KiwiSaver and FREE parking, plus discounted childcare on the precinct. You will join a fantastic Digital Delivery Team, supporting our Infrastructure Business Units with flexible work arrangements.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a technical business analyst familiar with complex construction projects. Your responsibilities will include working with designers and project team members to break down project designs, programmes, and separable packages to assist in determining Digital scope, budget, and programme. You will collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to analyse construction designs, specify scope, develop technology scope, define user requirements, manage scope through project changes, and enable efficient planning through current planning data. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative, high-impact projects that will significantly shape Auckland Airport's digital landscape.

Your Key Responsibilities Are

  • Lead the elicitation, documentation, and prioritisation of business requirements for high-impact digital projects across the Infrastructure domain.
  • Interpret construction drawings to develop scope quantities, cost estimation, and capacity planning inputs.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing business processes, identifying opportunities for process and technology transformation and efficiency.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven recommendations and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure and digital teams to translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, ensuring proposed solutions are user-centric and aligned with business strategy.
  • Act as a key liaison between business units and technical teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to project governance and reporting.
  • System configuration, such as flight information displays and passenger information screens.
  • Actively contribute to the development of innovative approaches that enhance organizational capabilities.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with a strong focus on digital initiatives in construction.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital technologies, platforms, and trends.
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery and understanding of Project Management and software development principles and lifecycles.
  • Expertise in business process modelling and workflow analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong meeting and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strategic and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Interest and experience in leveraging AI technologies to improve productivity and streamline business processes is desirable.
