Department Description

Atradius IT Services (ITS) is responsible for all global ICT services for Atradius. ITS operates globally with staff in 12 countries, driving digital transformation and managing a diverse range of services, projects, vendors, and outsourcing. The Shared Components area within ITS designs, develops, and maintains reusable components that form the foundation for Atradius applications and services, ensuring integration, consistency, efficiency, standardization, and scalability. It also fosters collaboration, provides technical support, and guarantees components meet quality, security, and business objectives. The API CoE (Center of Excellence) sets best practices, standards, and governance for API development and management, driving innovation, consistency, and supporting teams in building secure and scalable APIs. It promotes collaboration, provides guidance, and oversees the API lifecycle to maximize value and alignment with business goals.

Job Description

As the API CoE and Shared Components Manager at Atradius, you will lead innovation and excellence in the development and management of APIs and reusable components. You will define strategic directions, establish best practices, and ensure the consistency, security, and scalability of API and shared component assets. Your leadership will foster collaboration, promote standardization, and support business objectives through technical expertise. You will oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, mentor engineering talent, and ensure alignment with organizational standards.

Responsibilities:

API Centre of Excellence (CoE) Management
  • Define and maintain API governance frameworks and best practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of APIs, including design, versioning, security, and retirement strategies.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive API adoption, standardization, and reuse across business units.
  • Monitor API performance, security, and compliance, and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions for internal teams regarding API strategy and best practices.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate API usage, business impact, and technical performance.
  • Oversee API documentation and develop onboarding processes for clarity and ease of integration.
  • Promote API security standards, assess vulnerabilities, and coordinate incident response planning with cybersecurity.
Shared Component Management
  • Manage the design, development, and maintenance of shared software components for reusability and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce standards for documentation, testing, and version control of shared assets.
  • Coordinate with project teams to identify opportunities for leveraging shared components and reducing duplication.
  • Monitor the usage and performance of shared components, implementing updates and enhancements.

Qualifications:

Educational Background

Experience
5–10 years of experience in engineering or technical leadership roles with hands-on expertise in API design, development, governance, and lifecycle management. Experience managing reusable software components, integration platforms, or B2B/API technologies is highly desirable. A background in modern software engineering and DevOps practices is essential.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud platforms. Solid understanding of API management solutions, API security standards, and best practices for reusable component development.
