Physician Assistant - Interventional Pain Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Interventional Pain Management team at ATHENS ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC, PA. The ideal candidate is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients experiencing acute and chronic pain through comprehensive assessment, evidence-based treatment, and procedural support.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic urgent care or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong clinical skills including orthopedic assessments and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and manage high patient volumes under pressure

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic imaging
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Assist in or perform interventional pain management procedures (e.g., trigger point injections, joint injections, nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections) under physician supervision
  • Prescribe medications and manage pharmacological therapies in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide pre-procedural and post-procedural patient education
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on best practices in interventional pain management
