As ATB’s next Risk Analyst Summer Student
You are the first line of defense, fostering a culture of risk awareness in alignment with ATB Advisory Services' Risk Appetite Statement. The Risk Analyst Summer Student will work within the Advisory Services Risk team and will collaborate with various stakeholders across Risk and ATB to help analyze and reduce existing manual risk reporting with automated solutions.
Accountabilities
- AppSheet Development for Loan Control Oversight: Assist with the development and implementation of AppSheet applications to automate and enhance loan control oversight processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Process Automation and Capacity Building: Provide assistance in identifying and developing use of AI for other manual processes across the team to improve operational efficiency and free up team capacity.
- Post Funding File Reviews: Provide oversight and reporting on client loan files to ensure that ATB Business is operating within our risk appetite.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Proven, strong understanding and proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Software Expertise: Strong experience with Google AppSheet, Gemini, Tableau, and Google Workplace Suite.
- Data Transformation/Automation: Experience in designing and implementing solutions to automate data usage and move to robust data platforms.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills.
- Problem-Solving: Inquisitive nature, not afraid to challenge the status quo, and able to identify and develop solutions for manual processes.
- Autonomy & Ownership: Self-starter who can own a project from requirements to delivery and complete tasks independently with minimal input from leadership.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and focus on details.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks and interruptions to ensure deadlines are meet.
- Business Knowledge: Understanding of the business lending process and accounting principles would be an asset.
- Mentorship: Ability to effectively mentor others on Appsheet and processes (as you will be transferring knowledge to the team).
