Job Description

About the Role: Slot Coordinator

Are you seeking an independent and responsible expert role with direct impact on Finland's air traffic? Airport Coordination Finland is looking for a Slot Coordinator for a position that combines significant responsibility, international networks, and expert work at the core of the aviation industry.

This permanent, full-time position is based at Lentäjäntie 3, 01530 Vantaa, with the application period closing on March 11, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

As a Slot Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating arrival and departure times at Finavia's slot-coordinated airports in accordance with IATA traffic seasons. You will also collect schedule data from other airports, adhering to EU and international regulations. Your role is crucial for smooth airport operations, as you will define airline slot times for each traffic season, ensuring alignment between capacity, regulation, and operational realities. You will actively participate in national and international cooperation and development within Nordic and EU aviation forums.

Additionally, you will manage the finances and administration of Airport Coordination Finland ry in collaboration with the accounting firm. This includes budgeting, reporting, and ensuring the association's daily operations run smoothly, working closely with the board and key stakeholders. This role offers a unique blend of operational responsibility, international networking, and independent expert work.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about an independent and responsible job, capable of grasping broad concepts and understanding how operational decisions affect the entire operating environment. While experience or understanding of air traffic or other scheduling-related tasks is beneficial, candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Essential qualities include the ability to interpret regulations, act impartially between various parties, and take ownership of a role that directly influences the efficiency of Finnish air traffic.

You should be analytical, systematic, and adaptable, thriving in a varied task field and maintaining control even in changing situations. You collaborate naturally with domestic and international stakeholders and communicate fluently in both Finnish and English.

What We Expect From You

  • Experience and understanding of air traffic or another operating environment related to traffic scheduling.
  • Ability to work independently, make analytical decisions.
  • Excellent interaction skills; constructive, solution-oriented approach to inter-organizational cooperation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, system agility, and readiness to adopt new tools.
  • Good command of both Finnish and English languages.

Highly Valued Skills

  • Additional language skills, particularly Nordic languages.
  • Experience in slot coordination or similar capacity management.
  • Understanding of financial management principles and budgeting.
  • Experience in reporting to diverse stakeholders.

What We Offer

  • A versatile and independent job, leading a critical function in Finnish aviation.
  • Direct impact on airport efficiency and smooth operations.
  • Opportunities for international collaboration and networking at Nordic and European levels.
  • Flexible work environment, allowing you to plan and manage your daily tasks.
  • A permanent role in a small, agile organization where your work directly shapes operational quality.

We offer flexible hybrid work arrangements; while initial presence in the office is expected for onboarding, remote work is possible thereafter, depending on tasks.
