Summary

The Compliance & Quality Assurance Specialist works within the Compliance department to drive quality-related initiatives and ensure adherence to laws and regulations impacting background screening. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance quality control systems supporting background check accuracy.
  • Process and track orders in quality-related queues using Salesforce.
  • Monitor and report on compliance KPIs and update policies accordingly.
  • Document deviations from company standards and escalate issues.
  • Conduct reinvestigations following legal guidelines including FCRA.
  • Perform complex research and recommend solutions for escalated cases.
  • Communicate with courts and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Respond to quality-related inquiries by providing subject-matter expertise.
  • Execute additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Preferred: Customer service experience and legal/court system familiarity.
  • Required: Experience in research/investigations and web-based research.
  • Required: Background screening experience and Salesforce proficiency.
  • Required: Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of HRIS, CRM, or general ledger is a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Background Screening Association Core or Advanced certificate (or ability to obtain one).
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license if work-related driving is performed.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years in relevant roles.

Working Conditions

This position is performed remotely within the United States or in the Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. Normal office safety practices apply and remote workers must maintain a safe, ergonomically sound workspace with reliable internet. Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
