Job Overview
The Lead Software QA Engineer position is based in Bengaluru, India at Astera Labs' Design Center. You will work with leading processor, GPU vendors, and cloud service providers to identify performance bottlenecks in compute-intensive workloads such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional, performance, interoperability, and stress tests.
- Develop and maintain manual and automation testing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Silicon, architecture, and firmware teams.
- Perform signal integrity and protocol level validation, including PCIe trace analysis.
- Mentor team members and manage requirements through development phases.
Basic Qualifications & Experience
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required (Master's/PhD preferred) along with minimum 4 years of experience. Strong knowledge of Python scripting and PCIe testing methodologies is essential, with added value given to candidates familiar with PRBS testing, loopback, margining tests, and compliance validation.
Additional Skills
- Experience in OOB testing and protocols like MCTP, I2C, SPDM.
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Excellent communication skills for working with global hyperscale OEMs.
