Role Overview
As a Distinguished Diagnostics Quality Engineer at Astera Labs, you will ensure the quality and reliability of advanced semiconductor products from design through high-volume manufacturing. You will lead diagnostic test strategy, define diagnostic coverage metrics, and enable robust debug methodologies across advanced process technologies and packaging types.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Test Development: Define diagnostic test plans, fixtures, tools, and methodologies for high-speed switching products.
- Embedded Silicon Agent Champion: Develop and integrate embedded silicon diagnostic agents with cross-functional teams.
- Design DFT Review: Collaborate with design and operations teams to embed early Design-for-Testability.
- Advanced Packaging Diagnostics: Create methodologies for MCM, 3DIC, and optical interconnect diagnostic challenges.
- Issue Debugging & Quality Analytics: Lead debugging and data analytics to improve product quality.
- Automation & Lifecycle Quality: Develop automated diagnostic tools and integrate diagnostics into lifecycle management.
Skills and Experience
Experience with digital and SerDes high-speed protocols (PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, UCIe, Ethernet), embedded silicon diagnostic agents, lab debug tools, and scripting/programming for automation is required. Familiarity with semiconductor test flows, advanced packaging technologies and strong communication skills are essential. A deep technical background in electrical engineering along with leadership experience in product engineering is preferred.
