Job Description

Position Overview

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices. We aim to eliminate connectivity gaps for billions of mobile subscribers. As a Regulatory Engineering Intern, you will support the Regulatory Affairs team as part of the 2026 Summer Internship Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize documents and review technical filings.
  • Gather, maintain, and organize records from engineering analyses.
  • Perform computations by substituting numerical values into formulas.
  • Plot data, generate basic graphs, and support analytical documentation.
  • Assist with preparation, review, and tracking of regulatory filings.
  • Support engineers and legal counsel with regulatory research.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 0–1 years of relevant experience is required with demonstrated interest or coursework in space systems, wireless communications, spectrum management, orbital mechanics, and RF engineering.

Preferred Qualifications & Soft Skills

  • Interest or coursework in wireless communications, spectrum management, RF engineering, or space technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional legal and engineering teams.

Technology & Physical Requirements

Familiarity with data plotting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel), standard documentation tools, and basic engineering computation methods is expected. This role is based in the Washington, DC area to attend in-person meetings with the FCC and other federal agencies.
