Legal Intern Regulatory Affairs

Position Overview

The Legal Intern Regulatory Affairs role at AST SpaceMobile supports our Regulatory Affairs team for the 2026 Summer Internship Program. You will work closely with in‑house counsel, outside counsel, and engineering teams on licensing, compliance, policy, and other regulatory matters concerning the FCC and other regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft FCC license applications, comments, replies, and petitions.
• Summarize, analyze, and monitor regulatory filings and decisions.
• Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Assist with regulatory compliance activities and due-diligence reviews.

Qualifications

Education: Current JD candidate (rising 2L or 3L) from an accredited law school.

Experience: Relevant work experience or demonstrated interest/coursework in space, communications, or administrative law and policy.

Preferred Qualifications: Law review or journal experience, plus demonstrated interest in space and communications law.

Soft Skills & Technology

• Strong interpersonal, writing, communication, research, and analytical skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and regulatory submissions.
• Experience with document management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements

Based in the Washington, DC area for in‑person meetings with federal agencies such as the FCC.
