HR Business Partner at ASSA ABLOY Group
Our HR Business Partner plans, coordinates, and leads strategic and tactical activities, aligning business objectives with employees and leadership. This role maintains an effective level of business literacy about the facility's financial position, midrange plans, culture, and competition. Serving as a crucial link between management, corporate staff, and the facility, the HR Business Partner handles HR-related questions and matters, interprets and administers policies, procedures, practices, and programs, assists with work-related problem resolution, and conducts investigations. The HR Business Partner evaluates and executes standard HR initiatives and program rollouts, engaging with compensation, benefits, employee relations, employee communications, engagement, and recognition; health and wellness; HRIS, legal compliance, policy adherence; recruitment and onboarding; training and development, and workforce planning and staffing administration. We are looking for local candidates as this will be an on-site position at our Carrollton, Texas facility.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with the General Manager/Business Unit Leader to translate current and future business goals and develop/implement initiatives to meet business objectives, improve work relationships, and build morale.
- Provide day-to-day performance management, guidance, coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop, define, and enhance HR policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
- Administer policies, procedures, practices, and programs to ensure fairness and consistency, operational improvement, and cost containment.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources. Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function while reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies. Represent the Company in personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Collaborate with Corporate HR on general human resource issues, implementation of activities, policies, and programs, and provide assistance for HR day-to-day operations to ensure positive employee relations and good management practices.
- Determine HR practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship, promote a high level of employee morale and engagement, provide 2-way communications and feedback systems, and maintain union-free status.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization, be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. Resolve conflicts and provide coaching and counseling on human resources matters.
- Coordinate and conduct employee meetings to ensure communication on all shifts occurs throughout the facility.
- Manage and coordinate talent acquisition and placement.
- Provide guidance and input on staffing strategy, workforce planning, employee promotion, transfer, and succession planning.
- Design, develop, implement, and complete programs, projects, and activities to ensure employees are educated, trained, and developed.
- Plan and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation.
- Establish and maintain HRIS information and reporting.
- Ensure compliance and accurate record management on personnel-related documents.
- Work in collaboration with the Regional EHS Manager to ensure each location is compliant with federal and state regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with emphasis in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years in either a generalist role or in a succession of assignments in various HR disciplines.
- Experience managing employee relations, including demonstrated positive employee relations programs and activities.
- Experience with talent management, including recruitment, performance management, and employee training and development.
- Experience in project management, change management, and conflict management/resolution.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge and experience with HRIS administration (e.g., SuccessFactors) including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
