Position Summary

The On-Call Maintenance Engineer responds to and completes all general maintenance requests for room calls, public areas, meeting rooms, back of house, physical plant, and exterior areas of the property. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering.

Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to and complete all maintenance requests in various areas.
  • Tape, spackle, and paint walls.
  • Promptly and courteously respond to guest room calls.
  • Track, complete, and prioritize work orders.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating off-season projects.
  • Perform safety inspections and monitor fire detection systems.
  • Ensure all compliance standards are met, including OSHA and GHS.
  • Identify process improvements and report safety hazards.
  • Interact daily with guests and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; 2 years’ experience in mechanical fields (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanical repairs, carpentry; understanding of safety procedures; ability to work on weekends and holidays; strong task prioritization and communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, and bend for extended periods.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and variable surfaces with protective equipment.
  • Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
