The Team

The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) Portfolio Office delivers portfolio management, project delivery, business planning and governance services in partnership with ASIC's Digital, Data & Technology group and RegistryConnect (RC) program.

The Role

The Junior Business Analyst will work with business subject matter experts and IT teams to analyze and clarify business requirements. You will be involved in stakeholder workshops, document functional and non-functional requirements, contribute to UI design following User-Centred Design principles, support test planning and execution, and provide assistance with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Contribute to user interface designs ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines.
  • Support test planning, preparation, and execution activities.
  • Assist with UAT, system implementation, user manuals, and training material creation.
  • Provide additional project support across various initiatives.

About You

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, a foundational understanding of requirements gathering and process modelling, and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with BPMN, UAT, and user-centred design is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Proficient with process modelling and requirements management tools.
  • Good understanding of BPMN, data analysis, and modelling techniques.
  • Strong skills in documentation, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Additional Information

This is a 24-month fixed term contract role based in Sydney or Melbourne with a salary from $97,401 to $109,171 plus 15.4% superannuation. ASIC offers a 50/50 hybrid work-from-home model, flexible work arrangements, attractive superannuation, additional leave entitlements, and support for study and professional development. Applicants must be Australian citizens and complete an ASIC Suitability and Baseline Assessment.
