How You’ll Make an Impact in This Role
- Own and optimize the organization's core routing and switching infrastructure across campus and data center environments, ensuring stability, performance, and availability of critical network services.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex network incidents, leading deep Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting efforts and restoring service across large-scale production environments.
- Drive continuous improvement of the network platform by leading upgrades, migrations, and operational enhancements across Cisco, Extreme Fabric Connect, ACI, and NDFC technologies while mentoring fellow engineers.
Education & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR
- Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR
- 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences:
- 8–10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise and data center environments.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with: Cisco routing and switching (Catalyst, Nexus), Extreme VOSS / Fabric Connect, Cisco ACI, Cisco NDFC.
- Strong expertise in: Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, policy control), Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, VXLAN/EVPN fundamentals), Data center networking and fabric architectures (operational support).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer network issues under pressure.
