Job Summary
As a Patient Access Representative at Ascension, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient patient experience, especially during night shifts. This part-time, remote position requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to patient care within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring clinical resources and patient time are used with maximum efficiency.
- Accurately capture demographic and insurance information to ensure a seamless checkout and billing experience.
- Resolve scheduling hurdles and provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients regarding their pre-service requirements.
- Support the insurance authorization process to ensure patients get the care they need without delays.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
- Medical Assistant background.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments via phone and chat correspondence.
- Experience taking high volume calls in a health-care setting.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems in a remote environment.
- Experience with Athena, Epic, Dash, Salesforce or Genesys.
