Overview

The Lead Analyst - Data role at Ascension is a full-time remote position under the Ascension Data Science Institute. The role supports Ascension’s national Population Health strategy by driving analytics and reporting for Value-Based Care (VBC) Quality programs.

Responsibilities

The Lead Analyst - Data will:

  • Lead analytics and reporting for VBC Quality programs including Medicare Advantage Stars, HEDIS measures and more.
  • Develop advanced SQL queries, Python scripts and dashboard solutions using Tableau and Google Sheets.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable insights and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, actuarial and payer teams across national and market levels.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Mentor team analysts and serve as the subject matter expert in quality performance analytics.
  • Support payer performance reviews and audits ensuring reports align with contractual obligations.

Technical & Experience Requirements

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 4 years of healthcare analytics experience
  • Experience with payer quality programs (Stars, HEDIS, Medicaid MCO, ACA QRS, commercial quality)
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Tableau, and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Ability to extract, transform and interpret healthcare data from multiple sources
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
