Data Science Intern Overview
The Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI) Internship Program offers a practical, on-the-job learning experience in a large healthcare environment. As a Data Science Intern, you will support leadership with data-driven insights and gain hands-on experience working with our Data Science team.
Responsibilities
You will design and construct prototypes using algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis. Collaborate with department leaders and team mentors to develop project plans and timelines. Manipulate and validate data from various sources, analyze it to meet project objectives, and deliver insights. Present final projects to team members, data science leadership, and potentially clinical stakeholders. Gain hands-on experience with tools such as Google Cloud Platform, Python, or other preferred analytic tools.
Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma equivalency or be enrolled in an accredited program relevant to the discipline. Technical skills in query writing, data manipulation, data visualization, familiarity with statistical software (R, Python) and SQL are preferred. Strong communication skills and comfort working in a dynamic, start-up style environment are essential.
