About the Role
The Technical Consultant - Public API Identity and Integration plays a key role in shaping how ASB connects with partners and customers through our External API platform. You will lead the design and implementation of new integrations focusing on Open Banking and Financial‑grade APIs, while providing technical leadership and consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of integrations into ASB’s External API platform.
- Provide technical leadership across Open Banking and integration delivery.
- Engage with third‑party providers and stakeholders, offering consultancy.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Ensure compliance with security, risk, and control requirements.
- Collaborate with squads to deliver high quality services.
About You
You bring a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to technical leadership with strong decision-making skills, curiosity for improvement, and a collaborative mindset. A solid background in software engineering, integration design, and security is essential.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Proven experience in solution or technical architecture roles.
- Hands-on expertise with Open Banking and Financial‑grade APIs.
- Solid skills in C#, .NET, API gateways and integration patterns.
- Experience with security protocols, OAuth, OIDC, and mutual TLS.
- Familiarity with containerisation, enterprise networking, CI/CD, and Git.
- Strong stakeholder management and clear communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure; security frameworks for Financial‑grade APIs; observability tools like the ELK stack; and Agile environments.
