What to Expect as a Platform Engineer AWS at ARRK Engineering

As a Platform Engineer AWS, you will join a dynamic team focused on designing and operating a cloud-native AWS platform. This platform is crucial for powering digital transformation initiatives for our automotive clients. Your role will encompass critical areas such as platform architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, security, and observability, demanding strong collaboration with engineering teams and direct technical consulting with customers.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a highly scalable and secure AWS-based cloud platform that supports the digital transformation needs of automotive clients.
• Define and continuously evolve cloud and platform architectures, incorporating modern patterns like serverless, containerized, and event-driven approaches.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code and automation solutions for provisioning, configuring, and evolving cloud environments efficiently.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for both applications and infrastructure, prioritizing reliability, safety, and an excellent developer experience.
• Proactively embed robust security, compliance, and governance practices into the platform design and operation.
• Establish comprehensive observability and operational standards to ensure high platform and application reliability.
• Optimize cloud resource usage and costs through continuous automation, monitoring, and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external customers to design innovative solutions, review architectures, and provide expert technical consulting in a client-facing capacity.

Your Profile and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer AWS, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer, particularly within complex cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code, with a preference for Terraform.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native deployments, and advanced automation techniques.
• Experience operating containerized workloads on AWS, including proficiency with Kubernetes or other managed container services.
• Solid understanding of security best practices, reliability principles, and operational excellence within cloud platforms.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in diverse, cross-functional, and international teams, contributing positively to an inclusive engineering culture.
• Clear and confident communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential; knowledge of German is a valuable asset.
• An interest in the automotive domain or a passion for cars is considered a plus.
