About Data Platform Team Lead
Aroundhome is on a mission to empower 15.6 million house owners across Germany and the broader DACH region. The Data Platform Team Lead will drive strategic data initiatives by leading a team of experienced Data Engineers to ensure reliable, scalable, and accessible data across the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 experienced Data Engineers.
- Own and evolve the data platform with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders.
- Oversee architecture design and implement best practices for data infrastructure.
- Champion infrastructure, reporting, data enablement, literacy, and governance.
- Track platform adoption and continuously enhance the organizational data experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a B2C or marketplace environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in managing data engineering/platform teams.
- Strong technical skills with knowledge of Kafka, Apache Spark, Airflow, Terraform, and AWS services.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day project management.
