About Data Platform Team Lead

Aroundhome is on a mission to empower 15.6 million house owners across Germany and the broader DACH region. The Data Platform Team Lead will drive strategic data initiatives by leading a team of experienced Data Engineers to ensure reliable, scalable, and accessible data across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 experienced Data Engineers.
  • Own and evolve the data platform with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Oversee architecture design and implement best practices for data infrastructure.
  • Champion infrastructure, reporting, data enablement, literacy, and governance.
  • Track platform adoption and continuously enhance the organizational data experience.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a B2C or marketplace environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in managing data engineering/platform teams.
  • Strong technical skills with knowledge of Kafka, Apache Spark, Airflow, Terraform, and AWS services.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day project management.
