About the Role

Premium Auditors examine the financial records of businesses insured by commercial property and casualty insurers to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Your primary responsibilities include looking for evidence of fraud and verifying that insured businesses adhere to regulatory standards. This is a hybrid position, requiring you to work from home and travel to audit locations within your assigned territory 2-4 days per week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct insurance premium audits for Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile policies.
  • Audit policyholder's records and apply manual rules and company standards.
  • Prepare for audits by identifying necessary information and record types.
  • Develop schedules to maximize the optimal use of time.
  • Correspond with insured individuals via phone, email, and mail to set up audit appointments.
  • Examine policyholder records, gather data to determine correct classifications for business activities, and write effective descriptions of operations.
  • Prepare complete audit documents, explain results to the insured, and communicate outcomes to the home office.
  • Travel to multiple audit locations; work from home and complete remote audits 2-3 days per week.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent, plus two years of experience performing premium audits, or a combination of education and experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents.
  • General PC knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of Visual Audit is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Maintain automobile insurance with specific bodily injury limits.
