Job Description

Who You’ll Work With: Collaborate with experts in optical and electrical components, IC packaging, PCB design, thermal and mechanical design, firmware/software, operations, and test engineering to take transceivers from concept to high-volume production.

What You’ll Do: As a Senior Optical Transceiver Design Engineer, you will design and develop next-generation optical modules and engines (1.6Tbps and beyond), define transceiver module architecture, produce detailed engineering specifications, create high-speed PCB schematics and layouts, and lead technical validation and performance optimization. Your work will integrate optical, electrical, and mechanical systems and support design validation and production ramp through root-cause analysis and automation using Python, C++, or LabVIEW.

  • Define optical transceiver architecture meeting system-level requirements.
  • Design high-speed PCB schematics and guide layout engineers.
  • Collaborate cross-discipline for optical, electrical, and mechanical integration.
  • Lead validation, bring-up, and performance optimization.
  • Implement industry standards and automate testing routines.

Qualifications

B.Tech or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in optical transceiver design, fiber optics, RF modulation, and networking systems. Hands-on experience in PCB design, high-speed opto-electrical systems, and adherence to industry standards (QSFP, OSFP, CMIS) is required. Strong scripting skills and effective communication across technical and managerial levels are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, expertise in optical transmission systems, IC package design, high-speed SerDes design, and advanced signal and power integrity analysis are preferred. Familiarity with coherent and direct-detect optical systems and DSP algorithms is an advantage.
