Job Description

Note: Only local Michigan residents will be considered for this role.

Who You’ll Work With

As part of the Sales Engineering team, reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with field engineers, product management, software development, and the Arista TAC. You will be involved in technical leadership, customer engagements, and strategic product development.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by gathering requirements.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to understand client needs and conduct whiteboard network reviews.
  • Present Arista's networking solutions including Open Networking Data Center, Cognitive Campus, CloudVision, and related technologies.
  • Design and implement scalable leaf-spine architectures with overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN.
  • Test proof-of-concept setups and deployments, ensuring optimal network performance.
  • Offer guidelines and recommendations based on Arista Validated Designs to enhance network efficiency.
  • Assist sales teams with RFP/RFQs and relay customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Represent Arista at industry events and conferences.
  • Stay current with networking industry trends and document insights in white papers.

Qualifications

  • Network Industry Certification (ACE-L4, ACE-L6, ACE-L7, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in L2/L3 networking design for Data Center, Campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Expertise in routing, switching, overlay technologies (VxLAN), and leaf-spine architectures.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Network Consulting Engineer.
  • Deep knowledge of Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, Multicast, and QoS.
  • Competence with CLI, Python, and Ansible for network automation.
  • Strong technical writing skills for developing white papers.
