The Position

The Associate Data Engineer role is an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in the renewable energy industry. This role is part of the Performance Engineering team and emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, continuous improvement, results, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics workflows using Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Integrate large, diverse datasets from performance, CMMS, and drone inspection platforms into a central platform.
  • Analyze asset performance and maintenance data to identify underperformance and forecast maintenance needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle from cloud ingestion (e.g., AWS S3) to visualization.
  • Drive continuous improvements in software systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain metadata documentation and ensure data governance best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
  • 3-4 years of professional experience in a data-oriented role.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake) and AWS environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with data libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and mathematical modeling.
  • Experience processing and analyzing aerial or geospatial imagery using tools like OpenCV, Scikit-image, GeoPandas, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
  • Strong teamwork, ownership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to align data insights with business strategy.
