The Position
The Associate Data Engineer role is an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in the renewable energy industry. This role is part of the Performance Engineering team and emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, continuous improvement, results, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics workflows using Snowflake or Databricks.
- Integrate large, diverse datasets from performance, CMMS, and drone inspection platforms into a central platform.
- Analyze asset performance and maintenance data to identify underperformance and forecast maintenance needs.
- Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle from cloud ingestion (e.g., AWS S3) to visualization.
- Drive continuous improvements in software systems, processes, and procedures.
- Create and maintain metadata documentation and ensure data governance best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
- 3-4 years of professional experience in a data-oriented role.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake) and AWS environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with data libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and mathematical modeling.
- Experience processing and analyzing aerial or geospatial imagery using tools like OpenCV, Scikit-image, GeoPandas, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
- Strong teamwork, ownership, and communication skills.
- Ability to align data insights with business strategy.
