Job Overview

The Systems Engineer will design, build, and test electro‐optic mechanical stabilized systems. This role involves decomposing requirements into software and hardware functions, integrating systems, and conducting end-to-end tests. The role collaborates with development, production, program leadership, and customers to close technical issues while working with various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test plans and procedures ensuring equipment availability.
  • Assist in requirements derivation, traceability, systems integration, and performance verification.
  • Conduct system integration testing to validate compatibility and performance.
  • Document findings, generate test reports, and present results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, optical, and software teams.
  • Support test events at multiple sites and participate in design reviews.

Experiences and Background

Eligible candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Secret/Top Secret clearance. Hands-on knowledge of precision assemblies and hardware testing is required, along with a degree in Systems, Optical, Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering for electro-optic systems and/or lasers. Experience levels range from Engineer 2 (BS/BA: 0-5 years, MS/MA: 0-3 years) to Staff Engineer (BS/BA: 5+ years, MS/MA: 3+ years).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as Jama, IBM Rational DOORS, Magic Cyber Systems Engineer.
  • Understanding of optics/lasers and ability to script for test automation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum and industry standards like MIL-STD, MIL-HDBK, ISO, ASME.

Additional Information
