About the Project Site Buyer Role

The Project Site Buyer is responsible for all procurement activities related to a specific construction project site. This includes purchasing, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining cost-effectiveness. The role involves managing supplier relationships, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, and collaborating with project teams to meet project timelines and quality standards. The position typically spans 1-3 years and requires onsite presence for the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily orders and manage procurement systems.
  • Research cost reduction opportunities and negotiate pricing.
  • Manage invoices, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and warehouse teams.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, accounting, or a related field. 3-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably within electrical construction. Experience with computerized procurement systems like Astea and knowledge of LEAN methodologies are preferred. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are required along with the ability to read technical materials including electrical contracts and blueprints.

Travel & Work Arrangement

This remote position requires travel to project sites and potential temporary relocation if the candidate’s home base is outside a reasonable commute. The role is project-based for 1-3 years.
