Python Software Engineer
This is a fully remote daily rate contract based in either Ireland or the UK, with an initial 6-month term likely to roll long term in a contractor-friendly environment.
Join a high-calibre software engineering team focused on building a cloud-native risk analytics platform using Python, Azure, SQL, and Kubernetes. This complex, mission-critical system is built to a high standard. Your mission will be to expand the platform to support other parts of the business, focusing on greenfield new feature development as part of a newly formed crack team. The ideal candidate will have a strong Python software engineering background and be passionate about building high-quality, complex, cloud-based software.
Role / Opportunity
- Python Software Engineering role (backend-focused)
- 6-month daily rate contract (highly likely to extend)
- Fully remote, requiring residence in Ireland or the UK
- Primarily greenfield new feature development
- Work on a mission-critical Risk Analytics platform
- Build high-performance cloud-based applications
- Utilize a tech stack including Python (Flask, Tornadoweb, SQLAlchemy), React, containerization (Kubernetes and Rancher), microservices, and cloud (Azure)
- Engage in Agile, DevOps, Test Automation, CI/CD, and Cloud Native practices

Skills / Experience
- Strong backend software engineering experience (10+ years)
- Excellent Python skills
- Proficiency in Containerization
- Experience with SQL
Rate
- £500 - £550 DOE
- 6-month contract initially
- Fully remote (based in Ireland or UK)
