Role Overview

As a Design Management Lead, you will lead the design and implementation process for complex Data Center projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and seamless coordination across disciplines to meet client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire design process for Data Center projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural experts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related inquiries from clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Oversee the development of innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions for critical infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, and fire protection.
• Review and validate designs to ensure compliance with applicable local and international codes and standards, as well as client requirements.
• Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to align design solutions with project requirements.
• Promote innovation and stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Provide regular updates and detailed reports to clients and stakeholders on design progress and challenges.
• Train design managers and guide them to adhere to best practices in Data Center design.
• Ensure adherence to internal processes to mitigate risks, enhance profitability, and guarantee quality.
• Organize project staffing in liaison with the Design and Engineering team, Arcadis's remote Global Centres of Excellence, and potentially external partners.
• Lead project reviews, with a focus on schedule, team fit for client needs, time spent by team members, and quality delivered to the client.
• Participate in business development by preparing proposals and presenting bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in the design and delivery of construction and engineering projects, with a specialization in Data Centers or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Management experience.
• Organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Data Center systems (electrical, mechanical, fire protection) and German/International standards (VOB, DIN, HOAI).
• Proficiency in CAD software and other planning tools.
• In-depth market knowledge, excellent understanding of energy-efficient cooling solutions, and industry trends.
• Strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to coordinate planning and implementation processes while collaborating with various disciplines and external service providers.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively with team members and external partners.
• Proficiency in English and French (written and spoken) is essential.
• Available for regular travel in France and abroad as per project requirements.
