The Downstream Transformation Analyst Role

We are seeking a Downstream Transformation Analyst to join our DS Transformation & Business Excellence Department. This department drives sustainable transformation by combining strategic insights, strong governance, and capability building across the portfolio. It ensures alignment with organizational priorities through performance tracking, initiative reviews, and the delivery of fact-based insights that drive impactful outcomes.

Your primary role involves supporting enterprise-wide transformation initiatives by ensuring robust governance, accurate financial validation, and actionable insights derived from data and analytics. You will leverage analytical rigor, business acumen, and governance discipline to drive performance tracking, ensure data integrity, and enable informed leadership decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, track, and report progress of transformation initiatives against defined targets.
  • Support governance reviews, steering committees, and executive reporting processes.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, and interdependencies across initiatives, proposing effective mitigation actions.
  • Collect, consolidate, and validate data from various sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to visualize program performance effectively.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to pinpoint performance gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Validate business case assumptions and assess their financial impact.
  • Partner with Finance and initiative owners to ensure alignment between initiative tracking and financial reporting.
  • Support adherence to established transformation governance frameworks, policies, and approval processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from all initiative owners.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and organize shared folders for auditability and transparency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance, Business Analytics, Strategy, or Data Analytics) is strongly preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the Energy sector (Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals), including at least 5 years in areas such as Corporate or operational strategy, Business development, Enterprise or functional transformation programs, or Performance management/value realization offices (PMO).
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong background in data analytics and performance management.
  • Solid financial acumen, including the validation of business cases and value realization.
  • Hands-on experience with governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
