Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior UX Designer to join our cross-functional team supporting digital products for Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You will work alongside engineers, designers, researchers, and product managers to ensure product decisions are grounded in user needs and informed by data.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs across product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with researchers to integrate user insights.
  • Extend design systems and component libraries.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Document design decisions and maintain clear design artifacts.
  • Mentor peers and lead design critiques.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of UX/product design experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.
  • Proficient with tools such as Figma and Mural.
  • Familiarity with GitHub for collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Experience in Agile development environments.
  • Deep familiarity with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG.
  • Strong communication skills to distill complex findings.
