Job Overview

APTIM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team of engineering professionals serving our Government and Commercial programs. The role involves planning, procurement support, design, construction, and commissioning phases, with responsibility for creative problem solving and multi-project management.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Produce complete electrical design documentation including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Possibly lead projects and supervise junior personnel.
• Resolve diverse and complex engineering challenges using analytical methods.
• Coordinate with Engineers and Designers to resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for complete multi-discipline design packages.
• Assist in planning and design phases of projects.
• Support procurement and construction phases with engineering expertise.
• Ensure conformance to engineering codes, standards, and company policies.
• Travel to work site locations to provide engineering support and client meetings.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• 4-7 years related experience with a strong foundation in electrical engineering practices.
• Familiar with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and ANSI codes and standards.
• Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain one shortly after hire.
• Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance (US Citizen required).
• Proficient with Office products and engineering software like ETAP, SKM, and CADD tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or MicroStation.
• Good verbal and writing skills with added value from field, factory, or construction experience.
• Willingness to travel for occasional field/site visits.
